Hey my fellow Hunters. Check out my ongoing story Tale of Two Hunters The Setup The sound of a single shot screams through the air, impacting and immobilizing a Fallen vandal. It lay, sinking, upon the soft sand of the Forgotten Shores clutching the bloody mess that was once an arm attempting to keep quiet. It grunts, fading in and out, hearing the faint sounds of footsteps approaching. The Vandals final scene, two shadowy cloaked figures stood before him, it hears voices, then nothing. "I told you Violet, there's no damn way he was going to live through that. I kind of feel sorry for him." She retorts "Give me a break El, did you finally grow a heart?" Elwood steps over the vandal and stands in front of Violet, patting her helmet. "Either that or just relishing the fact that you now owe me 1,000 glimmer." She swats his hand and checks her sniper rifle "You really though I was serious about that bet, El? C'mon you know me better than that." Elwood drags the vandal to a pile of lifeless Fallen and tosses him on top. "You forget who taught you to never keep your word." Violet looks up "El, shut up." Elwood-9 surveys the scene, they've cleared the surrounding area of all Fallen. "Well, enough fun for now, lets get back to tower." They board their ships and take off, Elwood grew tired of doing Tower's dirty work. He longed to break free from the Guardian order but Violet was commited to the traveler, El however was not convinced. Never have, never will. He cared for her but did not believe in her cause. "How could I show her.." he pondered. After landing they part ways and planned to meet up first thing in the morning to run a strike against the house of Devils. Violet retires to her quarters, logs her take for the day, and sleeps. She dreams of the time when the oceans were deep blue, not blood red. Dawn arrives quick as it always does, Violet gears up and casually strolls to her ship to rendezvous with Elwood. She is happy, with El by her side she feels invincible. Taking off, she attempts to contact her right hand, but yields no response. She tries again, still nothing. "El never not answers.. odd." She tracks his ghost "Venus, Ishtar Cliffs." Her monitor reads. Engaging the warp drive, she is determined to find out what is going on. "What's your -blam!-ing name, scum!?!" Elwood-9 steps out of cover swinging at a Fallen captain, connecting a vicious right hook to the jaw. The captain staggers and El throws a body combination knocking the livid captain back further. "My name is no good to you dead!!" The captain screams and throws a hook straight to El's gut. He holds his stomach, looking up at the captain now rushing him "Big mistake." El ducks and whips out a blade, cutting the ankle of the captian. The wounded Fallen drops to one knee crying out in rage. The crafty exo hunter takes advantage of this an brutally shanks the captain in the back, but he did not move. Blood poured from his wounds. "Fenris, no house." El kept the knife in its back. "Thats why Im here Fenris, I recieved word last night from the Kings comms that you defected, I want to know why. "House Kings plots with the enemy, but not I." The hunter kneels down and looks Fenris right in the eye "What enemy are you speaking of Fallen?" Fenris grins and spits blood on El's armor "You know him, close to home. The devil in white that pulls your strings." Elwood-9 stands and turns his back to Fenris "Son of a bitch." El faces Fenris who is now up and toe to toe with him. "Never turn your back to your foe, Clown. You are set up just to fall." Fenris falls on his back, a pool of blood forms around him. He doesn't speak. "What the hell, El!!!" Violet runs up to him. "What is going on and why are you here?" Elwood-9 glares at her "Ill explain, but not here. Lets go." Violent Betrayls Elwood-9 rushes Violet to a subtlely lighted musty cave located about a mile above from where Fenris lay. She sees an old radio transmitter from the collapse era and a plethora of writings she instantly became curious about. "Putting in overtime huh? Thanks for the invite." She grins through her helmet, however Elwood-9 was not in a joking mood. Ignoring her, he tries to fill her in. "Last night my ghost picked up a transmission over the cosmodrome, two Fallen, they sounded like Captians, spoke of a deal made with the Last City and a defector who fled after learing about it." Violet was intrigued but confused. "Go on," "That fallen captian you saw was the defector, I picked up his skiff's signal and followed him here. Stalked him for about 7 hours before I decided to make a move. He spoke of Towers proposal of some kind of deal with the house of Kings. He knows more, but I knew he wouldn't spill his guts." Violet becomes annoyed from hearing of ill intentions from tower. "I doubt it's anything serious El, you've wasted your time. We have to trust our keepers, they know whats best. Besides you tore that captian up, he wont be spilling anything anymore." El is angered at her blind trust but keeps his composure. "The Speaker is directly involved, from the mouth of the brute himself. By the way he isn't dead, there was a tracking device on the tip of my knife which is now just left of his right shoulderblade," El summons his ghost who displays a map with the comings, goings, and current location of the Fallen captain. "He's regrouping, he knows he's being hunted by two angles, chances are he thinks the Vangaurd sent me and will be back." Violet cannot stand to hear another word, she raises her voice. "El, you've lost your!!!... "Keep your voice down." Gunfire cackles almost from nowhere as Violet falls into her friend's arms, she's been hit. "Damnit, Violet! Get your ass up!" El drags her behind a nearby boulder and begins suppresive fire. The kick from his pulse rifle is strong, he pulls the trigger with fire is his eyes and thunder from the barrel erupts, hitting his targets with murderous accuracy. This is not his first rodeo. "Damn Fallen, should have known Fenris had a crew!" He shakes Violet violently, she awakens. The impact from the wire rifle had knocked her cold, but she know the deal. She moves up to the nearest cover under the securing fire of El's pulse rifle. She pulls a blade from her leg sheath, closes her eyes and focuses her energies on the deaths of her family. Lightning sparks from her body as she explodes in arc energies, cutting through the air like a bullet she rips through the remaining packs of Fallen. "Okay! Okay! You got em!" Elwood-9 recognizes her abilities but knew she was secretly showing off. Violet's energies wear off and she looks back at him emerging from the cave, walking tall. Head held high, and proud. Okay El, Im listening.
