Bump....bump. I agree. What bothers me about the whole thing is that Bungie, in looking at reports on weapon usage, wanted players to use more pulse rifles. So what do they do? They buff pulse rifles and nerf the number 1 used weapon (auto rifles) to basically "force" players to use pulse rifles more. I don't care that Bungie wants to justify the creation of a certain weapon and feels the need to make that weapon stronger in order to gain more support for it. Just don't devalue another weapon in order to do this! Make players want to use that weapon based on something positive about the weapon, not because you've changed one more popular to something less worthy.
