Why are you against weed?
I am simply curious as to what the more popular reasons are for people who are against the use of cannabis.
So if you are against it, what is your reason?

I smoke to help deter the side effects of chemo. It's not legal here but it should be and helps so much

Just a lot of personal experiences. Had way too many friends smoke a lot of weed in high school and now have ruined and squandered their futures away by doing nothing but living with parents and smoking weed every chance they get. Some of them were really smart too. There aren't really a lot of long term studies on marijuana and its effects, but my personal hypothesis from what ive seen is that kids who do it young, particularly in high school, kind of become teenagers forever. By that's just personal experience. I'm sure there are exceptions to it, and adults who start it as adults don't have as many issues. Having nothing against it and those who smoke it, but if my kids do it their asses are in serious trouble and I would never want to experiment with it. As someone who can get addicted to just about anything, why risk it?

1 ReplyI don't do any drugs or drink alcohol. I'm not against it, I just choose not to. Although, I've been around both a lot so I know what I'm talking about when I say that alcohol is a much more dangerous thing than marijuana. People who are high are chill and fun. People who are drunk are annoying. Not to mention that alcohol can cause people to be violent (when have you ever heard of people somebody beating his wife after smoking a joint?). If we allow alcohol in our society, why on earth should weed be illegal?

I'm against it while our brains are developing (ages 1-25) because it kills the brain cells we need. It doesn't really have an effect on us after the brain stops developing unless you smoke it heavily. Science even proves this

A lot of it smells awful and it -blam!-s with the dopamine receptors I believe. If not then I still dislike it because I don't need it to have an awesome time. As well as its a huge turn off if a girl smokes to me.

13 RepliesAll things in moderation. Even water will kill you, if you drink to much of it. Marijuana has proven medicinal capabilities that should never be overlooked. It is also one of the most versatile plants on the planet. Salves, lotions, paper, medicines, textiles,etc. I prefer potheads over drunks. I smoke once in a while and I know very successful people who do as well. Some of these posts seem like they are straight out of the dare textbook. Marijuana isn't evil. Big Pharma is. Anyone that is full blown against it make no sense to me and it seems judgment based on experience and not fact.

Probably costs. I'm not gonna spend a lot of money cause I'm a broke kid who has to plan college finances. The last thing I want is an empty wallet and an empty stomach because I wanted a few hours of a high.

7 RepliesMeh, not against, just the people who are for it are undereducated about it. It's bad for you, plain and simple. It does cause lung problems, no it's [i]not[/i] natural, it causes dysregulation of neurotransmitters and is thought now to lower iq. With that said, cigarettes and alcohol are harmful and legal? I do both of those things so I can't judge weed smokers. But is it really that much of a miracle drug? Absolutely not. It's properties can be when synthesized (marinol), to become more potent and helpful(also in pill form). Just face it, people who want to legalize just like getting -blam!-ing schwasted haha more power to you!

9 RepliesMy reasons- You're smoking it. It involves fire, and paper, and weed, so carbon dioxide and monoxide poisoning. People decide to smoke it then go outside. It makes a place look horrible but also, when you're not quite there and decide to drive a car or motorbike and hit someone because you're not thinking, you've probably killed that peeps on. It's illegal (unless you're in Paraguay, North Korea, Luxembourg or one of the four states in the US who have legalised it). Just accept it rather than getting into all the court trouble and paperwork. Gateway drug. It might not kill you but what it leads to will.

5 RepliesI am against weed not because I think It harms your body. It can't kill you directly. But it can lead to indirectly killing you. People tend to do stupid things when they're high. It's like being drunk, almost worse. If someone is high and driving, it can cause problems. Also, weed is a gateway to other drugs. If one is to smoke it, do it away from others and when you have plenty of time on your hands.
