The Traveler is in a semi-active geosynchronous orbit with Earth. Due to its magical properties, it does not affect Earth's rotation or gravity in any known way. It is moving with us rather than Earth moving it. The only other known active properties of the Traveler, other than its floating, is the shielding it provides us around the Last City.
