  • My problem with Deej is his complete lack of presence on the forums. I truly think he voices our concerns to the Devs, but I think he makes a passing sweep once a week to find anything trending and goes from there. Which means, due to the fast nature that posts get buried in the forums, he misses quite a lot doing it that way. He didn't know what Xurning was until a month ago. That is bad because that has been a term on the forums since the first month this game came out. He rarely comments on anything when asked (I realize he can't hit them all, but still some answers would be nice) and when he does, the comments are not really comments, but vague responses and elusive answers. I understand that he can't give everything away, but it would be nice to hear from him more often about Destiny related things. I feel like his Weekly Updates are informative, but for the most part they are all fluff to me. He does address some things that are coming up, but they are very poorly explained, and often leave me frustrated wanting to know more. Teasers are one thing, but teasing a teaser is infuriating. And he really excels at that. It's a simple matter of explaining to the community in more concrete terms what is happening. Instead of leaving us to rage and ask questions resulting in vaulting anger while he remains silent, how difficult would it be to drop in on some of the LEGIT questions (that are asked respectfully) and give an answer? As a community manager, he is the first line of contact for Bungie, and he is largely silent. He will go days at a time without responding to anything. He responds on Reddit more than he does on the official forums. Nine times out of ten, we find out what is going on from sources NOT Bungie related, which bothers me a lot. This stuff should come to the public from Deej. Yet I hear it first from Game Informer. Or Kotaku. Or Polygon. Or Gamespot. Or IGN. Now he does NOT deserve the often awful things the community here says about him, but I can honestly see why the community is so frustrated with him. He just needs to talk to us more. Maybe he has time for that, maybe he doesn't, I don't know. Disabling comments on updates was legit for me; he said he wants to track reactions on the forums. Except that he doesn't have a presence here. Look at his profile and observe the gaps in between his posts. They are ridiculous. So how can I accept that he wants us to take to the forums when I'm not even sure he reads them? How then, can I trust that he is speaking to the devs about true community concerns? That all being said, I'd love to have a beer with the guy. I'd buy. I think we'd get along personally quite well. He seems like my kind of guy with his nerdy references and backhanded tributes.
