PSA: If you use The Last Word, you're cheating.

The Last Word is one of the most powerful weapons you can encounter in the Crucible. So powerful, it can kill you in less than a second (That's like a heavy weapon killtime). Often times, it doesn't matter if you get the first shot off; The Last Word user can just turn the battle the around in the blink of an eye without any real effort. I've been told by multiple users that the eponymous perk the weapon has is actually bugged. The extra precision damage applies not only to hip firing, but aiming down the sights as well. That means that people who use this weapon are exploiting a glitch in the game to their advantage, which means they're cheating. Look it up. Last time I checked the Xbox Live terms of service, exploiting unintended elements in a game to your advantage constitutes cheating. I'm sure PSN has similar terms. Bungie is no stranger to banning people for this sort of thing; Achronos himself stated back in the Halo 2 days that the use of the button glitches in that game in Matchmaking was cheating and a bannable offense. I'm sure some of you (probably the people who use the gun) will start calling me names, saying that I suck or am a sore loser, yadda yadda yadda. But it doesn't really matter; the terms are clear. If you use the Last Word in Crucible in that manner, you are technically cheating. There's no if's, and's, or but's about it. You are cheating. You're welcome.

 • Alright. Time to defend my second d---. The last word, is a incredibly good gun. Like really really good, definitely better than 95%+ of the guns in destiny. ITS A REALLY GOOD GUN. Can a gun be better than a lot of other guns hands down and not be OP? YES. Is the last word OP? MAYBE, but not nearly as much as you think. Let's compare the last word to a lot of other guns people complain About if they don't have and use of they do in destiny. The thorn. Easily comparable to TLW as it's also a hand canon, but I think about it as the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to hand cannons. The thorn will beat TLW EVERY SINGLE TIME if the thorn user is more than 30-40ft from TLW user. Now of course this presumes that both users are computers with perfect aim, but that's the control. The thorn, quite simply, outranges the last word, just compare their stats. Now shotguns have a 1 hit (0 second kill) range of anywhere from 5-15ft, eating up almost half of the most effective range of TLW. So if you have a shotgun and a thorn, you will have the upper hand more than 50% of the time you come up against the last word. Moving on, let's complain about the hawkmoon, 1% of the time you hit someone with the hawkmoon you will do 66% more damage (is that right? Luck in the chamber is a 33% increase right?) if that's a headshot it's an instakill at almost any range. 23% of the time you will do 33% more damage and the gun is already comparable to the thorn without the bonus damage. (As in writing this my envy for guardians with hawkmoon is growing... 1/3 exotics I don't have!) Also the fatebringer, does 84 headshot damage consistently up to ~40-50ft. Which is the same as TLW after you leave the ~15-20ft 111 headshot range. Also has firefly and outlaw. And it's not exotic, which in in of itself is a huge advantage. Now let's talk about the increased precision damage when firing from the hip being applied to ADS fire. I would definitely remove this (if it's even a thing I've never noticed it but that may be because it's active 100% of the time) , but have we considered that it could be a hidden perk? Lots of exotics have hidden perks which are not considered glitches. Prime example of another OP hidden perk, Lord Gjallarhorn. In addition to tracking, and subsequent cluster tracking, the Gjallerhorn has FREIKING PROXIMITY TRIGGERED ROCKETS. Which IMHO is far supirior to tracking (although having both is optimal) in PvP. As if the gun wasn't king already. And exploits of course! Let's not forget about some other "exploits" you should bash just as hard if not harder than TLW. Namely the final round perk, which when applied to shotguns/snipers is just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I'd reroll an edifeets spear for final round amongst other perks, but I cant tell you how many people I see in the crucible these days shooting off all but one shot with their shotguns or snipers just to get 20ft kills with shotguns or 1 hit body kills with snipers. Curious if you would consider this visable perk an exploit. And last but not least, let's talk about skill, something I have been negating this whole time because testing the extent to which a gun is better than another has to have a control of being tested by aimbot. Double taping headshots with TLW, or any hand canon IS NOT EASY. try it out sometime. Well once Zur sells the last word again. I'm not that good with TLW, not that I'm proffesing to be some PvP God or anything. But when I get two shoted by a last word or single shoted by a hawkmoon, I attribute it to skill, get over it and move on to the next fight. (Luck if 1 shoted by HM) And even if it WAS easy, there would be a gun that would scrape the TLW, the hawkmoon, the thorn, any primary, fusion rifle or heavy, pretty much anything but another sniper or a shotgun, 100% of the time. NO LAND BEYOND MOTHERF---ERS! 1 shot headshots at (almost?) any range. Of course any sniper can do this, but let's face it if you do it with a NLB, you are ten times the guardian. And again, if you think it's easy, I'd invite you to give it a try. Post a game where you are using the NLB as a primary (not sitting in the back of the map sniping the whole match, be aggressive!) and you get more than 20 kills with a KD higher than 5 and I will delete every single exotic I have (which is all but the HM, forth horseman, and Necrocasm (which oddly enough out kills the HM on average if you hit 100% headshots, again not easy, detecting a pattern?)), I s--- you not.
not hating on any guns here sorry to any thornians or HM fanatics that felt that way, also no name calling! Really not as hard to not do as so many of the people on these forums seem to think...
Your welcome.
