We may already be using Mk. VII. We don't really know what the hell is up with MJOLNIR GEN 2 and its relationship to Mk. VII.

I believe it has been stated that Mk. VII is the last iteration of Mjolnir GEN1, and was replaced by Mjolnir GEN2. Even if that hasn't been confirmed, it seems to be the most likely answer.
