What the 03/26 update might really be saying...

I've seen a ton of threads discussing the new vault space parameters. I have not seen people discussing the implications of what was said...essentially reading between the lines. I want to look at a particular excerpt.
Different players have different needs, but our goal was to find a solution that could deliver more Vault space to the greatest number of people(1) in the short term. Our challenge was to provide an increase in storage that fit within the memory constraints (2)that limit how many items can be displayed on one screen. (3)This had to be accomplished by a team who is simultaneously working on future content. (4)We opted for making sure that players would have enough slots for all Exotics from Launch through House of Wolves - thus the largest increase in slot space is for weapons.
As shown, the bold and underlined aspects of the excerpt lead me to believe a few things. 1. This is a short term fix. I would imagine mainly for new gen consoles considering the problems with old hardware listed further on in the article. 2. The limit is for how many items that can be displayed on one screen. We have already seen what looks like a leak of a 2nd tower in the reef. Whether there will be another vault of some sort is unknown, but there is the possibility. If the vault is limited to what can be seen on one screen then it would make sense to have another vault or even the option to scroll between vault pages for weapons, armor, accessories. Another thought is that with future DLC after the HoW more space will be required. At that time due to the notable size of the DLC we know as "Comet" a more permanent solution will be implemented. 3. Future solutions that may be what we were expecting in the short term are still being worked on. 4. HoW is upon us. - Due to DLC content being released in the near future, a solution or "patch" was required to accommodate new gear. If I remember correctly, this game was likened to a living breathing project. More vault space might not have been really planned for until "Comet". In this instance then Bungie is doing their utmost to cater to the requests, albeit demands, of the community. I want to believe the reason why this "patch" is being implemented, and the reason why it seems so paltry, is because a) they care a great deal about the finished product and b) because they want things to go as smoothly and bug free as possible.

 • What I don't understand is why Bungie can't give more details on what they mean by " it became clear that we would be pushing very limited memory constraints on older generation hardware". What the hell are they referring to? CPU memory, HDD Space, some how pushing the RAM? I hate when they don't want to be specific. And as my main point is HOW is it pushing memory constraints? Almost everything on Destiny is server based. The server saves it for you, it's not like you have a save file on your system. (Just to let inform I use the PS3). NO company ever wants to say what the issue is, they just beat around the bush like Bungie does a lot. You can't expect a company to deliverer a promising game when they can't even be transparent.
