Non precision weapons should never be the most lethal. That's just my opinion.

  • Thing is, they weren't. Ttks were already much lower than hand cannons, and lower than scouts too. The way i see it, an auto rifle used should be able to outgun the average hand cannon user at close range, but a good hand Cannon user should be able to outgun a good auto rifle user 8 times out of ten. Kind of like how Bungie did halo.

They did do less damage. But a new coming guardian should be able to pick a weapon up and be able to have a bit of success. I started out with autos, they WERE op before the first nerf. A while later I graduated to hand cannons, as most required much more skill to use, but killed much quicker if one was able to be accurate with it. Hand cannons shouldn't kill faster than auto rifles if the hand cannon user misses a shot or two, and the auto rifle user is accurate. But a skilled Cannon user should be able to defeat a skilled auto rifle user every time.

  • Even before the 1.1.1 patch hand cannons were still more lethal.

  • It's funny actually because I just heard the term "Assist Rifles" the other day to describe autos in pve now and it is spot on hahah. In pve I thought some needed a buff even before the patch. But as far as them being just as lethal in pvp before the patch, I'm going to have to disagree. Getting off 2 headshots with thorn, hawkmoon, etc was a LOT quicker than the required 6 for SUROS. I believe autos rivaled handcannons and the vex before, but now it's just no comparison.

  • Hand cannons cause much more flinch per shot, they just don't shoot as often.

  • Some are forgiving, yes. The SUROS, however, is actually a lot less forgiving than most other auto rifles. I know people bash on it saying it's easy to use etc. however, it is basically a scout rifle when the focused fire perk is active. Meaning it's less forgiving if you miss a shot, the slower ROF makes it so the enemy has more time to get more shots off at you.

  • Forgiving means if you mess up, you still have a pretty good chance. In this case, what I'm saying is that SUROS isnt too forgiving in the the low ROF similar to scouts are not very forgiving. Meaning if you miss a headshot, there's a high likelihood of you losing that gun fight.
