The new players that are not aware of all the systems in the game (like how damage works and how range/impact affects it, etc.) will be using them, until they get a decent hand cannon/scout rifle and a shotgun that is...! The older players know how much they suck now. There is absolutely no point in using them anymore. After the patch, I've never used an AR again. Even the SUROS, which I was very hyped about when I got it post-patch, didn't make me want to use them more. I put it in the vault as fast as I could after leveling it up.
