Usually it's the other way around, isn't it? Every person I see using a monitor says the only issue is the controller lag as they have to use an adapter or some sort of median between console designed for TV and a using a Monitor instead. How do you go about setting it up to prevent that?

Most of the monitors have HDMI. No adapter needed, and no lag.

But the HDMI is a requirement, correct?

Edited by TIMBURWOLF: 3/21/2015 7:44:50 PMThere are probably monitors that support RGB or Component, but why bother? XB1 and PS4 give you HDMI cables when you buy the system. Unless I am misunderstanding your question/point...?

No, you understood correctly. It's just I have never used a monitor for gaming for Xbox One or PS4. My computer doesn't have an HDMI port though, so wasn't sure if that was a must have, I wanted to give it a try.

You can bypass the computer altogether and hook the monitor up directly to your console. I assume you know this, but around here you can't always assume.
