I'm playing on a 46" Samsung LED. It's bottom in it's class in price, but top of it's class in lowest input lag. It's 1080p@60Hz. I make sure to shut off any hardware image processing features of the TV by using PC mode. I don't see any reason to go 4k, as current gen consoles don't support it. I wouldn't use a Plasma TV for gaming, as they are known to "burn in" images when playing video games.

  • Plasma is the best speaking strictly from a graphical/low ms delay standpoint. I had a plasma for years and never had any burn in issues. Bought a new LCD and my BF4 stats tanked for awhile because the delay was way worse on the LCD. Took some getting used to.

Input lag will be bad on any full featured TV. That's why I went bare bones. Mine only goes up to 120hz, but I have that turned off. The 240, and higher Hz TVs are really bad for lag. I think mine is 6ms response time, and 28ms for input lag, not great, but good for a TV.

  • That's more the older plasma's, the newer ones are much safer for gaming now. Nearly on par with lcds. In saying that tho I've played on both and I prefer lcd over plasma

And yea that older plasma tjat burn in mine was on for a good hr or so and no burn in 8)

  • Yeah, image retention is less of a concern on newer plasmas, but it can occur, just not as quickly, or severely as the early plasmas. I also prefer lcd.
