"Destiny Item Manager" Chrome Extension, Better than Transferring Items Through Destiny App!

Destiny's Companion App definitely improved for the better when Bungie created the ability to swap weapons, gear, and all items through the vault without having to go to the Tower. It was glorious! The only downsides (aside from the various bugs that popped up early on) are that you have to place an item in your vault first, then transfer it to your character, and then only one thing at a time. Those aren't all that bad of negatives really, and in the end they're first-world-problems. Otherwise, as long as you have a smartphone, swapping your vault items (or items between characters) mid-mission is much less of a chore. But could it get any easier already? Apparently, YES. Chrome user "eutral" created a browser extension called "Destiny Item Manager" that allows you to transfer items immediately to any character by dragging and dropping from your vault or between characters, gives a global view of everything you have stored or equipped (see image above), and even allows you to create loadouts that automatically switch everything up in real time. It's mind bogglingly useful! The only small catch is that you have to be logged-in to your Bungie account at the same time, but that is a small, small catch. It takes a few minutes to get used to, and occasionally my laptop at home wouldn't load the extension correctly (unless that was due to bugs in the version DIM), plus you need to have a computer that has Chrome installed on nearby while you're playing (no smartphone app ... yet, hopefully!), but all-in-all, if you can get in the routine of having DIM handy, I can see this as a fantastic tool, especially during raids when you might prefer/need certain gear or subclass during certain sections. I would love to see a sorting option, but that is a small quibble, however, for a great Destiny tool's first run out the gate. The custom loadouts is, by far, the standout bullet point for DIM, which puts it above what else is out there currently. Dragging and dropping from my experience was good, but I had to refresh my browser every time for the change to materialize, and sometimes it wouldn't even work, but the concept gets points. I can't wait to see how eutral grows and improves his/her fantastic extension ... or how Bungie might be inspired!
