The problem: The dark below locked previous playable content behind a paywall. That is bs. Weekly/NF were part of the vanilla game. And since, don't quote me on this but I've heard it in another thread, 50% of the weekly since tdb has been DLC content. His friend payed for the vanilla game, and deserves all the content of the vanilla game. Bungie out in a paywall for content he previously payed for. Look at it this way. Say the platform you are playing on had an update dlc that allowed you to their new controller. And then they go ahead and make it so that you need the controller to play any game you already have, your old controller will no longer connect. Many of you will say it's a stupid analogy, but if you actually think about it, it's what destiny did. Id know everyone here would be pissed if you console got this mandatory update. It the idea, not the price that matters. It doesn't matter if the new controller cost 5$ or 100$, people already payed $60 ish for their previous controller that should still function the same as before. I don't give a shit about the price. I have the dlc, but it really the fact that they did this crap that's bs. There's no denying it. NEWGuns, NEWarmor, NEW places and NEW content is ok to lock behind a paywall

 • You're right. That IS a terrible analogy. In Destiny, the weekly nightfall - though it comes with the vanilla game - is not locked out permanently. If my console got a mandatory update, I'd still be able to play my games, that's what I got before the update.

 • You are wrong. Destiny vanilla is what you paid for. The DLC was put onto the disc as a placeholder so they can work on it later and have more time for other things. The DLC was never part of the vanilla and it was ALWAYS meant to be sold as a DLC. The content is on the disc yes but that doesn't mean that it is actually part of the full game. Have been to any of the areas before? Some of them are so buggy and glitchy that if they were unlocked than the game would be broken. It is all P.L.A.C.E.H.O.L.D.E.R

 • I'm not saying they should get the dlc. I'm saying the they should be able to do the weekly with vanilla content every week, not be locked out of that game function due to it solely using dlc. They could easily add another strike for non dlc owners

 • Than that would be 2 different nightfalls a week. So if you have 3 characters than that means 6 nightfalls a week.
