Okay so I read my own post and thought about it and realized it didn't make sense so...edit

there are...

Because that's not how evolution works
-
Ok how does it work?
-
A species can be changed due to changes in its environment, they adapt to become more suitable. Over long periods of time, these adaptations accumulate into an entirely different species than how they started. They don't just jump from species to species
-
OK, so where are the fossil records showing the states between point A and B in the evolutionary timeline?
-
In museums, you don't expect me to hand you one do you?
-
Nice try. I expect you to back up your claim with more than a lame statement like that. Where are the millions of years worth of fossils showing the stages of fish growing legs, dinosaurs turning into birds, apes developing upright posture? Evidence is circumstantial at best, hence "The Theory of Evolution". Even Darwin had doubted the validity of his hypothesis.

Either troll or has never seen a museum

I've never been to a museum :(

Edited by Jack: 3/17/2015 11:20:49 PMI would assume the fossils are in the ground, and you don't see a fish fossil developing legs, that wouldnt make sense. The changes are very subtle. But you can look at how people have tail bones, how whales have tail bones and all of their hands have similar structures to almost every other species. Keep in mind you have to find fossils, they don't just show up in your lap. Not all skeletons of dead animals will fossilize. But what we have found are things like lucy. Yeah that was a lame response, because it was a lame question. Their are gaps in the fossil record, and scientist are working to fill in those gaps, that's why it is still a job. And do you really not know what a scientific theory means?? I mean come on, by that standard gravitational theory, cell theory, atomic theory etc. don't exist either.
-
Oh OK, so the changes are so subtle that there would be absolutely no fossil record spanning millions of years that show those changes. Isn't that convenient for you seeing that it plays right into your 'you should just take what I say as fact' type argument.
-
There are records, he is saying he doesn't have them on hand
-
I'm saying evolution is an observed fact that we have witnessed in animals with very short lifespans. Even without the fossil record their is still so much verification that this happened.
-
You're talking about variations within species, not evolution on a large scale.
-
No, i'm not.
-
Understand that a majority of changes are on internal, "soft" components. The things that break down when a body decays.
-
Fair enough, but over millions upon millions of years no skeletal remains would fossilize...I find that hard to believe and convenient when explaining away the lack of evidence in the fossil record.

There are lots of fossils in the fossil record that show a gradual change like land mammals to whales. There's also lots of gaps. The conditions necessary for fossilization aren't common. You'll never see a transition of a bird to a dog, because that's not what happened. This video is the best one I've found for explaining it simply.

Thank you. That was just about what I was gonna say.
