Although I love the Flood lore wise, they're pretty boring to fight. At least for me.
Been playing through the campaigns last weekend, and whenever the flood came I was just like: "Awww man, get ready for endless enemies."

Frankie has said in the past (around 2011/12ish) that they would completely redo the Flood's AI if they bring them back. Given the numerous new forms that 343 has the potential to explore, the Flood could most definitely become a challenging and fun enemy to fight.
