Isn't that more of a philosophy, though?

It's different from religion in a sense that they don't have a holy book. But some denominations have beileifs in a higher power/reincarnation.

Buddhism is pretty clearly a religion. It has temples and priests and posits an afterlife complete with hells. Confucianism, with which it is often confused, is as you say a philosophy.
