Also that heists are supposed to take 3 hours and have a $100,000 payout where the host picks how much money you get (i.e. He gets all $100,000 and you get $10)

Haha no. Heists are broken up into sections and the pay outs are between 1 million and 10 million. The host is the deciding factor of who gets what and what player is best for a certain role. If you don't have friends to play heists then go find some loyal dedicated clan on gta to play gta with. There's also daily missions to do that nets 100,000.
