Listening to some Five Finger Death Punch today, and I thought I would ask members of "Forum" if they enjoy growling/screaming in their music. I do if it is done well/tastefully and/or compliments the style of music. In my opinion, Breaking Benjamin tastefully uses growling, and it compliments Five Finger Death Punch's style of music. These are two of my favorite bands, and I think it adds to some of their music. You?

depends on the band like don't like the rest of that song is fine, i just don't like the vocals.
-
There are two kinds of vocals I love: super cute girl ones and death metal growling. It's rare for me to enjoy other vocals; I'm mostly into it for the instruments otherwise.
-
This is my favorite band
-
Sometimes. Depends on if it's pulled off well.

I used to love metal and related genres when I was in high school. I still like it, just not to the extent that I used to.
-
Not at all.
-
I can handle very little of it. For the most part, no.
-
Usually not, but on occasion I'm fine with it.
-
Not in my music... no... If it's used on occasion to emphasize an emotion in a song, I think it's fine. I can't understand this song, but I still like it. Am I old?
-
Lol no.
-
No, it sounds annoying and not like music at all.
-
If it isn't the whole song, yes.
-
Screaming- Occasionally. FFDP is a very good band IMO. Growling- Lolwat?

Edited by Braydzz: 1/13/2013 4:35:05 AMThis is a good one. Depends. I more so don't like the generic sounding extremely fast electric guitar that are oftenly used.. It all sounds the same.
-
Depends on how its done into the song.
-
Nah, it's not exactly my cup of tea.
-
Five Finger Death Punch? Ew... OT: Yes, if it's done well, and fits the music.
-
I like Gojira, but that's it.
-
Depends on the music. And Five Finger Butt Punch is awful.
-
I hate it

I'm okay with limited screaming/growling, but too much is over the top, there had better be some normal singing in the song too
-
I dont want to listen to emotards exploring the depths of their laryngitis.

Edited by Radiantsniper89: 1/13/2013 2:37:46 AMIt depends what the screaming sounds like, I am a HUGE fan of screaming if it is good and adds emotion to the song. Some lyrics need to be screamed to really capture the emotion that goes with the song.

If it's done right, yeah, but growling and screaming throughout the whole song? No thank you, I actually care about my ears.
