I feel that many exotics are powerful and have their own unique charm, making them valuable and very fun to use. Others, however, are disheartening to look at. Here are my top five and how I would fix them:
1. No Land Beyond - This tops everyone's list. It is a joke in the community. Part of me actually wants it to be left alone so that it can forever be made a mockery. However, if it were changed, I would love to see escalating damage with consistent critical hits, faster fire rate, and fixed reserve ammo. Two magazines isn't enough and it's clearly bugged as you spawn with three, but can never regain the extra mag.
2. Necrochasm - Another popular weapon in terms of disappointment, this sorrowful weapon is difficult to attain, and boasts a meaningless 7 additional points to its attack rating. Despite having the highest rating in the game currently (pre- house of wolves) it deals ridiculously poor damage in terms of per round and per second, as well as having little to help it stand out beyond cursebringer, which rarely activates and is very lackluster when it does. I would double the pitiful magazine capacity and have cursebringer activate on every kill, precision or not. The additional damage from consistent explosions helps the weapon stand out as a crowd control tool rather than single target dps, filling a nice niche.
3. Vex Mythoclast - On the subject of raid exotics, this one disappointed me ever since the buff following is initial nerf. I saw the change as a huge missed opportunity. One of my biggest qualms is that the Vex primarily relies on precision damage, but is the only fusion rifle to even have a precision hit modifier. I feel that the weapon could benefit most by retaining it's currently redused accuracy due to a recent fusion rifle change widening fire cones, but removing the precision modifier entirely so it had reason to be called a fusion rifle, and the damage should be scaled up so that it can be a moderately effective spray and pray weapon, standing out as incredibly easy to use, though only average (or slightly below) in terms of actual time to kill.
4. 4th Horseman - An unintentionally fitting place on my list, this exotic shotgun is entirely laughable. It's almost more disappointing than the No Land Beyond in that it can't even fill the role of a decent joke. Rather, this weapon is not even humorous. It fails to stand out at all as an exotic, lacking any unique traits other than its pitiful stats. The most unique trait of this exotic is how much it stands out as a bland, underwhelming, and useless weapon seemingly classified as an exotic without reason. The greatest change I can conceive for this weapon is to give it the justice it was initially intended; having four rounds per magazine, all of which are fired in one massive blast using the Thunderer perk, which should replace return to sender in the common unique upgrade position on the tree.
5. Hard Light - Something of an oddball for this list. Not many might consider this weapon, but in my opinion, this exotic is simply boring. Unlike the rest (arguably excluding the Vex), this weapon preforms adequately. However, its unique perk volatile light is so incredibly underwhelming that this is, essentially, indiscernable from the functionality of a legendary auto rifle. The greatest change I can offer this is to make it stand out more. In this change, there are no wrong ways to go, as the gun simply lacks flavor. Some alterations I may suggest could be any one of:
Volatile light perk also causes rounds to seek secondary targets to a degree after penetrating the initial target or ricocheting.
Penetration of targets increases damage dealt to secondary targets.
Remove overpenetration of targets from volatile light such that rounds ricochet once off of both surfaces and targets in random directions, creating an addition projectile ricocheting in an additional random direction.
Comment an exotic you feel is underwhelming and unsatisfying to use, one that you feel I did an injustice in this list, or give other ideas on how you would change one of the above weapons! I hope you enjoyed my concepts and I'm ingested in your ideas for other ways to spice up the Hard Light.

If a legendary have an exciting perk or scheme (pre-nerf Suros, Rolling Thunder) they tweake it for the sake of balance. Basically they took an awesome game and turn it into a boring, dull, tedious cheetos shooter battle.
