[Bungie] Astrolord helmet questions
I was examining my characters gear the other day to see what needed to be upgraded still and I noticed that my helmet only maxes out at 372 and the one that the future war cult sells is 425 with a considerable amount of more light. Also there is no way to upgrade this helmet like you can with Xur with your exotic weapons such as the monte carlo. Additionally I should at least be level 3 standing in the future war cult since I have completed so many bounties with this helmet equipped due to the fact that it is a future war cult helmet.

You have a pre-dlc legendary. There is no way to upgrade it so you'll have to buy a new one. As for reputation, you only gain faction rep by wearing their [i]class armor[/i] (hunter cloak, warlock bond, titan mark) not just a piece of their armor
