You're also forgetting a huge factor that is causing a great disparity between damage in the Crucible:
[b]Critical Hit damage.[/b]
Auto rifles had already taken a critical hit nerf prior to 1.1.1, a few months ago. Now that pulse rifles outperform autos at their intended range, the generous Critical Hit modifier will consistently mean pulse rifles will wreck the dick off of any auto user in a 1v1, even if they're both going for headshots.
Here's an experiment:
Take a low-impact pulse rifle like Bad Juju, Coiled Hiss, Oversoul Edict or Three Rounds Rapid.
Then use a wide range of auto rifles... low-impact ones like Silimars Wrath, Payback SOS, etc. Throw in some "medium-low" impact (Up For Anything, For The People, Do Gooder V) and toss in a high-impact auto like Vanquisher VIII.
Engage the same targets, at the same range. You will find that without fail, the Pulse Rifle will kill faster than the Auto Rifle no matter what the disparity in impact ratings. Your Oversoul Edict will cut down targets faster than your Vanquisher, despite the latter having about 5x the impact.
Your role as a moderator enables you immediately ban this user from messaging (bypassing the report queue) if you select a punishment.
