Well I believe that auto rifles are popular because they are easy to use. Now personally I can't use auto rifles, I try really hard to like them but I always go back to using scout rifles because of their power, accuracy, and consistency. But when was the last time you saw someone owning with one of high rate of fire, mosquito-like Impact auto rifles? Exactly. It seems like the auto rifles that are most used are the ones with high-impact, such as the SUROS and the Vanquisher, and rightly so they were nerfed. But why nerf ALL the auto rifles? My Nechrochasm is essentially a piece of crap that I'm better off using as a club, and the stability is God-awful. Here's what BUNGIE should do:
Apply an auto rifle damage multiplier for non-guardians. As of now the damage output of auto rifles in PvE is pitiful when compared to the other three weapon classes.
The strength of auto rifles is the ability to continuously stay on target by holding down the trigger. Now, there is one of two things that they can do: Remove the stability nerf auto rifles received a while back so that staying on point is easier, or place the 1.5 damage multiplier for critical hits back on the auto rifles to reward accuracy and precision.
That's my two cents on the issue. Again I don't really like using auto rifles, but I know that a lot of my friends do, and this nerf to the high impact auto rifles has them a bit salty.

Am I the only one not affected by this? They feel exactly the same to me.

It's definitely noticeable when I outgun every auto rifle user with my scout rifle

Not really. Auto Rifles available from Pre Dark Below are very low impact high RoF. Which is what probably most people are using. So its not that unexpected. Now I'm willing to bet if I go to Crucible use my old Shadow Price, I'll out gun Scout Rifles. But you have to remember Auto Rifles are Short to Mid Range. Its about picking your engagements, you can't gung ho with them anymore. If you want that go play Call of Duty.
