Yup. It's its own class.
Infinity-class to be exact. It's the first ship of the line, and is INF-101.
The problem with making more Infinity-class warships, is that to build INF-10, it used up half the UNSC budget, and took 16 years to get it to a combat ready state.

I meant smaller ships that might have some tech similar to the Infinity's but that response is good too.

Definitely. UNSC ships are already receiving improvements that the Infinity has. Most prominent being enhanced and more accurate slipspace drives.

Such as that frigate class we see over Daybreak.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 3/1/2015 4:17:51 AMThat is unknown. While the newest class is Strident, we don't know if all Stridents have energy shields, or if it's just Infinity's Stridents.

Energy swords?
-
Damnit. Lol. Energy Shields.
-
I would say they do. All of them, that is. It's not crazy to think that the UNSC has developed a new line of Frigates specifically designed to combat Covenant.

Energy shields take a shit ton of energy and are hard to maintain. No other Strident we've seen has or indicates to have energy shields.
