Do u think that the Infinity is a prototype for future UNSC ships? I mean, the infinity possibly has enough firepower to outmatch a Covenant supercarrier, like the Long Night of Solace. So my theory is that the UNSC has requested more concepts for ships that are as powerful as the Infinity thanks to the events of Halo 4's campaign, Spartan Ops, and Halo Escalation.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 2/27/2015 9:27:11 PMYup. It's its own class. Infinity-class to be exact. It's the first ship of the line, and is INF-101. The problem with making more Infinity-class warships, is that to build INF-10, it used up half the UNSC budget, and took 16 years to get it to a combat ready state.

I meant smaller ships that might have some tech similar to the Infinity's but that response is good too.
-
Definitely. UNSC ships are already receiving improvements that the Infinity has. Most prominent being enhanced and more accurate slipspace drives.
-
Such as that frigate class we see over Daybreak.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 3/1/2015 4:17:51 AMThat is unknown. While the newest class is Strident, we don't know if all Stridents have energy shields, or if it's just Infinity's Stridents.
-
Energy swords?
-
Damnit. Lol. Energy Shields.
-
I would say they do. All of them, that is. It's not crazy to think that the UNSC has developed a new line of Frigates specifically designed to combat Covenant.
-
Energy shields take a shit ton of energy and are hard to maintain. No other Strident we've seen has or indicates to have energy shields.

Thanks for replay

No problem. In the past, the only way for a naval engagement with the Covenant to be considered even, is if the UNSC outnumbered the Covenant ships 3-1. Otherwise, you would need to utilize ingenious maneuvers and strategies to stop the Covenant forces.
