Jet jump? Purple grenades? For one its called a jet pack, it's an armor ability, bubble shield too, two the grenade are blue, and stick to a target, much like the first grenade in the bladedancer class. I would like to add that there is an armor ability for invisibility, and in every Halo game you can pick up an active-camo power up.

You see new halo 5 Gameplay? Everyone sprints, shoulder chargers and does ground pounds.
-
You see the assassinations? Yeah they use knives, you see the energy sword? Yeah that's like blade dancer. Sprint is not Titan exclusive by the way. If you've ever played Halo 1-4 you know that active camo has been in every game, and that the CE pistol is equivalent to Golden gun.

The argument can be made both ways and the energy sword is a sangheilli weapon. Him using a knife in one game doesn't justify him being a class that doesn't make sense with him being a soldier and front line insurgent.

Also it's two games, Halo 4 and 5. Most likely all future titles too. As a plot character he is most certainly a Hunter, he's a lone wolf, he's faster than just about every other spartan, smart too. He is a soldier, but by definition so are Hunters.

As a plot character, he's an isolated soldier working with limited info and his back up is usually killed. 3 games he starred in had no knife. Also, his lone wolf-ness is more due to him having anti-social tendencies due to his training and possible ptsd. And oddly enough, he's had more missions as a squad than as a lone wolf. (he was a commander of spartan squads) 2. Your biggest argument is a knife, and a poncho. I mean sure, if we're just comparing in a vacuum, destiny and the chief and ignoring the world where almost any combat unit regardless of its purpose, most likely has a knife, then yes, he's the same. But let's see, how often are deadly shoulder chargers and seismic wave ground pounds implemented I guess more people do that than use knives. Hold on, he carries multiple grenades at one time. Nope, we're both wrong chief is actually a sunsinger.

Oh man that pistol. Almost is like the golden gun. Golden gun beta
-
They nerfed it to make Golden gun. It was far too OP.

I haven't played Halo in 3 years, my bad

Well now you know that Chief is a Hunter.
