With his mothers high rank it's likely she could have got Thomas into a special Spartan program. However he struggled in the cryosleep chambers and had bad reactions, interesting to see if he would cope with augmentations involved in becoming a Spartan. Thomas is a likeable character, Chief saved him when the covenant attacked the Corbulo Academy and Thomas returned the favour in Halo 4. JJ1042: Did we just create a wonderful idea?
