In LOTR:BFME (an RTS), there was a 3v1 mode. It was really fun, but people liked to rush before the 1 was ready and overpowered them. So, seeing how rushing isn't fun, I would always make an army of cave trolls and warn my teammates that if they rushed, I'd destroy their bases with my cave troll army (the one of 2 ways to commit friendly fire).
They'd usually think I was lying, rush anyway and, well....boom, there goes their base.
I would always get the most angry of messages after...

Edited by Steel Assassin: 2/22/2015 12:15:26 AMLikewise, you didn't lose in LOTR until all your bases were destroyed. For some reason, a specific unit's totem counted as a base. If I was about to get destroyed I'd hide a totem somewhere on the map and delay the end. I once won a game that way, somehow.

What makes losing your base so bad?

Initial source of income, needed to buy heroes, to get builders and was a strong defensive structure. It also cost a lot of income to build another. Not to mention that losing your base when no builders remained alive means that you can't build anything anymore. Oh, and losing all your bases and troop building structures meant you lost.

Lol, best troll so far.

I think so. A justified trolling, at least.

Also it used actual trolls. What were some of the things they would say to you?

Ha, good point! Didn't think of that. And lord, this was years ago. The servers have been shut down for a long time. But I do know that using my troll army for justice destroyed my rep (this was on the 360). A lot of negative feedback was sent my direction.

Wait, was this game on the ps2 as well?

I wouldn't know about that, sorry.
