It's far from being the hardest game ever, I've beaten grounded mode several times, I can blow through the whole game in one sitting on grounded. Not exactly the pinnacle of difficulty

Lol not really, but grounded mode just isn't that tough if you know the enemy patterns. The only difficult part is when you control Ellie.

Well, then you're in for a rough time I'd say. Save those arrows for the second big infected fight! Otherwise you won't have enough ammo to clear the room, and you might need to restart the chapter. Also don't be afraid to use David as a decoy dummy. Let clickers grab David, then stab them with Ellie's knife. That will help conserve ammo.

In the first room, don't shoot the infected until AFTER they break through the windows and enter the room. It makes the fight more frantic, but if you get solid body shots with the bow, you'll be able to recover arrows from the bodies. Bad arrow shots will usually snap the arrow, but a full draw and solid contact will generally allow you to scrounge up enough arrows to complete the second fight. You should escape the room with 6-8 arrows, then you'll be sitting pretty.
