This to me falls firmly into the realms of giving a stranger access to your bank account with the promise of them giving you free cash and then fleecing you. You would be a moron to do it. When something seems to good to be true and involves access to your account then you are gonna get suckered. Kid learned a hard lesson, but a needed one I think. I've played MMO's for years and if I had a £ for every time I've seen a player account share and then be screwed over because of gold farmers or people claiming to be able to dupe hack etc, then I'd never have to work again. Sure Kermit was a -blam!- but the Kid was just stupid and that's what you get for being so naive as to trust a stranger with your account with the promise of it being boosted. To those defending the Kid, would you be so quick to stand beside him if he had been successful in cheating but then had his account banned by Bungie? I don't think so.

  • Kid won't trust strangers again, but Kermit will continue to be a piece of shit until the end of days, possibly repeating this nasty trick on many unsuspecting children to come. The only people defending Kermit are obvious trolls with no legitimate argument as to why he deserves no form of punishment.

  • I'm not defending Kermit just as I'm not defending the Kid. Just stating the facts. On the games I used to play both the Kid and Kermit would have been banned, and while I think that's a bit harsh for the Kid seeing as he's lost everything it would also serve as a deterrent to make people think twice about account sharing with a stranger. As to Kermit, he should also be banned for tricking the Kid. Only fair thing to do is treat them the same as they were actually both in the wrong.

Agreed, modern justice would have them both see repercussions, although any good lawyer would use a manuscript of the video to prove that the kid was just testing seemingly malfunctioning game mechanics, an act that Bungie themselves have, on numerous occasions, said that they will not punish. (A ToS violating glitch is described as being used to gain an advantage over other players, the child had 3 characters over 20 and would therefore not be given any advantage whatsoever) Kermit, on the other hand, maliciously violated the PSN code of conduct, here: [quote]You may not engage in deceptive or misleading practices.
