You care if you're defending him. If you didn't, you wouldn't be saying anything at all. It was a dick move, but it was hilarious and Kirmit got some humor from the kid's naivety. The kid learned a valuable lesson about trusting people on the internet. That's a reward in itself.

Also I agree that he learned a valuable lesson I'm just getting disgusted by the way people are acting like what Kermit did was ok.

It's like people on the internet can only understand things on the most simplest levels people don't have to be 100% one way about stuff. Yes the kid shouldn't have tried to cheat but he doesn't deserve to lose it all. I don't feel bungie should restore his gear I don't think he's completely free from repercussions of bad decisions. But doing that type of thing to people is terrible and I feel people need to be kinder and more compassionate.
