Sit down, children - and listen to this story about how I got my username.
One fateful day, when I was in sixth grade, I returned home to find my parents had left with the rest of my siblings to run errands. As any good student my age would do, I began faithfully working on my math homework. Suddenly, I was interrupted by a roaring engine noise and a loud crash in my backyard. I slowly crept to the window to see what it could be.
What met my gaze made my jaw drop. Some kind of spaceship had landed nose-first in our lawn! Its tail end stuck out towards the sky slightly, fumes seeping from exhaust jets. I had seen many cartoons and movies depicting space ships, but this one looked different than any I could think of. The wings curved gracefully to the body, and I couldn't see any type of hard angle in its design.
A large door that I had previously not noticed near the cockpit slid aside. Was I about to experience the world's first extraterrestrial encounter? I waited. And waited. Nothing else happened. Well, if they're too scared to come out here, I'll go meet them myself," I thought. Then I stepped inside the ship.
Something in the cockpit caught my attention. An orange symbol, flashing on the center screen. I made my way closer and inspected it. The symbol was some kind of orb, with two rings revolving around it that made a perfect X across the surface. Out of childish instinct to touch everything, I reached out and brushed my finger on it.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
High-pitched alarm bells suddenly blasted throughout the ship. It was high time I got out of there. I clambered towards the door, only to find the hull sealed with no indication of the hole previously present in it. The entire ship started shaking furiously, and I was thrown into one of the rear chairs. Immediately, detainment straps shot out of the wall and closed around my body. I was hopelessly trapped.
My small frame lurched forward against the straps as the ship suddenly jolted backwards. I felt the vehicle level itself in midair. A second later, the ship blasted into the sky, taking me along with it.
I started crying. This had all happened so fast, I never knew what to do. I thought about my family and I knew there was a chance I wouldn't see them again. Restrained in the seat, I cried for what seemed like hours until I fell asleep.
After who knows how long, I began to sense the ship decelerating. Something new appeared in the distance. It was small and hazy, but grew larger at an alarming rate. A planet! One that looked exactly like the symbol I had touched on the console. It was a deep swirling orange color, and had two thin rings crossing each other. This was to be my destination.
On the approach, it became clear that I was approaching an airfield dome of some kind. Holes in the surface were continually opening to allow ships to enter and exit. The holes reminded me of the strange door I had found on the side of my own spacecraft. One opened for me as the ship grew nearer.
Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested yet
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared
I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought 'Nah, forget it' - 'Yo, homes to Bel Air'
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air
