So... you "earned" the coins. And "purchased" the merchandise. Two diffirent things.

    So you feel that purchasing items with a currency you earned from missions, weekly strikes, engram luck, ect... Shouldn't be used to purchase armor or weapons because it's not actually "earned"? By that logic you shouldn't be able to purchase anything with your vanguard or crucible marks. Might as well take those out of the game. I guess we shouldn't buy our upgrade materials with marks either because we didn't really "earn" those materials. We shouldn't purchase any upgrades from Xur with our glimmer, exotic shards, and previous item because I mean come on.... did you really "earn" that new piece of equipment? Oops, forgot the Blacksmith, Shader Vendor, Faction Vendors, and The Speaker... Might as well get rid of them too since they take a currency and exchange it for items that we didn't really "earn".

  • Is it though? Money is essentially a counting device for value. You expend time and effort and accrue money. The money shows how valuable your effort is. At a set value you can trade your money for goods and services. Working to earn money to buy stuff is only one step removed from working for stuff.
