Then how do you know if what the priest is telling you is the truth? Do you really trust a mere human who tells you that the bible (aka word of God) isn't necessary to lead you?

I don't really care. In my belief, the Bible is a collection of metaphors. Also, yes, I do trust someone who says the bible isn't necessary if they are a trustworthy person.

Well, I could give two shits what religion another person is, so long as they don't force anything on me. I'm okay with conforming slightly, like not drinking in front of Muslims and such.

Man look I'm not here to argue with you or cause a flame war, if you really want to be independent you should read the bible yourself. That's all I have to say just try it man, shoot I'll read it with you and do a bible study if you want, it could be on any topic you choose, if you're open to doing that of course.

My roommate is born Muslim and hasn't read the Koran, just like I haven't read the bible having been born catholic. It doesn't matter to me, and that won't make me more independent..

You sound a bit upset.
-
I'm upset for other reasons, sorry.

It's all good man, we've all had those days.
