Oblivion question

So, I just purchased Oblivion about a week back. I'm playing through it for the first time and I'm curious about the DLC. I'll be getting shivering isles and any others that bring additional quests. My question is more directed towards the smaller add-ons. (Horse armor, warlock tower, spell tomes etc.) From the descriptions on Xbox live it sounds like their just extra locations around the map. I'm wondering if they actually bring anything into the game that's useful or if they're just extra locations with some loot or something along those lines. Just looking for informed opinions before I go spending my money. Thanks guys.

  • Horse armor is absolutely, positively, the greatest DLC ever. So great it's still spoken of by fans and other devs. I mean, it's armor. For. Your. Horse. How great is that? Maps, overrated. New quests, fuggadiboutit. None of those can be proudly worn by your noble steed. The only thing they missed with horse armor was spinning rims. That would have made it even more epic.

    • Get the wizard tower one and cheese your acrobatic, athletic and hand to hand skills. Proceed to hulk jump off the tower into Bruma and smash NPCs.

You could have gotten the GOTY edition very cheap. Now you'll be spending more money than needed. Oh well, to answer your question: Those buildings/places are actually huge player houses you can buy. I have the stronghold one, and it's pretty nice. I think the Mehrunes Dagon DLC is actually a whole new dungeon to complete.

        • Are you serious? Why not just get the GotY edition?

          • They are just locations with extra spells, items, etc. If you're looking for something significant like Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, Mehrunes Razor, etc. then you won't find those smaller DLC worth it. Although, the Tower up near Bruma was always nice to visit once and a while. If you're ever low on fauna, then you can have a limitless supply there.
