Lost in the Dark; Chapter 6: Erik part 1, Lost Transmission

Hello guardians, this is AnonPig of The Collective of Fanfiction and I'd like to take this moment to invite all writers and readers alike to join! This is a single part of a much larger story, A New Dark Shines, to read from the beginning of the beginning: Arttu and the Ahamkara-Chapter 1; The Spine Lost Transmission ~ Days ago ~ Erik walked away from Lord Shaxx angrily muttering Hunter slurs casually. From nowhere his good friend Asger materialized, always going invisible and spying, that was Asger's way. "What was that about hunters?" Asger asked smugly. "Oh, hey Asger, it's nothing I'm just annoyed. You were there, that Damn gunslinger cheated, didn't he?" "Honestly I wouldn't know, but what I do know is Commander Zavala has a task for you!" "Oh yeah? Going invisible at the vanguards table again? You're going to get yourself caught one day. What was the task?" Erik asked. "Dunno, but I assume he's coming up to see you now." Asger disappeared right in front of Erik, unnoticed or uncared, Commander Zavala asked Erik to walk with him. They started walking towards the vanguard. "We have some depressing news Erik, one of Cayde-6's scouts have gone missing in the Hell mouth. There were rumours of some new kind of thrall so we sent him to find out what it was, he was reporting back regularly, nothing out of the ordinary. But then he saw it, they were taller and Skinner, he said they looked deprived." "Deprived of what sir?" Erik asked. "Everything. The Hive are cruel, even to their own, but they aren't like the Fallen. They wouldn't do this for no good reason, something dark is being done in the Hell mouth." Erik came to the table and listened to the transmissions. "/I've entered the Hell mouth, nothing unusual. /no report of new Hive behavior. I'll go deeper. /still nothing. Going deeper. /I've spotted something. It was far off. Tall, built like a thrall. Moving closer. /it's definitely a thrall. But it's so much taller. It looks weak, deprived, dead. /two acolytes and a knight came. They took the thrall to a wizard and led it away. I'm staying put as to not attract attention. /the acolytes came back. The thrall is with them, but it doesn't look dead any more. It's chained up and gagged. It's body structure has changed, but I'm sure it's the one they took. /it's hopping around like...like a jester. /codename jest is chained, left alone. I'm moving in. /I had to turn back more acolytes came out. They're going to codename jest...They're removing his gag.....Oh....Oh god....HAHAHAHAHAHA.....///static\\\" "We don't know what he saw, or what he experienced, but the transmissions were lost at that point." Commander Zavala said. "We need you to assemble a team and go find what happened. Are you up for the task Erik?" "Yes sir." Erik said confidently. Erik made his way back out from below, he found Asger and Hanne-16 by the tree. It felt so pointless to have a single tree and a single patch of grass around it, but this was where they always relaxed. ~ present ~ Erik looked down the slope, and he remembered. This was the jesters court. Everything came back to him now. Thankyou for reading, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig reminding you to live beyond the story!
