Lost in the Dark; Chapter 3: Have a nice trip, see you next fall

Hello guardians, this is AnonPig of The Collective of Fanfiction and I'd like to take this moment to invite all writers and readers alike to join! This is a single part of a much larger story, A New Dark Shines, to read from the beginning of the beginning: Arttu and the Ahamkara-Chapter 1; The Spine Have a Nice Trip See You Next Fall ~ present ~ Erik moved on, his memories slowly coming back, there was an abomination here. A new Hive abomination that ripped Hanne-16's hand clean off, and it killed in the most peculiar way. He didn't remember what it was just yet, but he had to find his friends and then find the abomination. He moved on from the room where Hanne-16 lie dead, and kept moving in the direction they came. It was so dark here, and so empty, Erik wasn't sure if he'd ever be able to find his way out. Without his memories if he came to a choice of going left or right how could he know which to take? He still held on to the idea that Hanne-16 and Asger were somewhere, they wouldn't just leave him, and they couldn't be dead they just couldn't. How long have I been walking? An hour two? Maybe only a few minutes? How long did I sit there holding Hanne-16's hand? And how long was I unconscious? The dreaded moment came, a fork in the tunnels. Erik sat down and cried, he was lost here, and his friends did leave him. They saw him dead on the ground and left, unable or unwilling to carry him back into the light, they left him here to rot. ...or be eaten... An unknown amount of time passed. It was almost impossible to see here, maybe that was why he couldn't grasp the concept of time, maybe a blow to his head had actually caused him to go insane. He got up, and without hesitation or consideration went left. It could be said he made the right choice, because it was where they had come from, but it could also be said to have been the wrong choice, because of what he found. The severed head of Asger felt like a hard melon to Erik when he kicked it. He thought it was just a rock at first, but then he felt something catch on his foot, and with his next step he fell. The cloak had come off of Asger's neck when it was kicked and wrapped around Erik's foot, his other foot took a step onto the remains of the cloak itself, then he collapsed. Searching for what caused his fall he found the half remains of the cloak, the head had rolled pretty far away and wouldn't be found in the dark. It was Asger's there was no doubt in Erik whatsoever, it was hard for Erik to believe his friends were still alive, but he entered a dangerous psychosis and made himself believe. On the clasp of the cloak read something Asger had said before, he made this cloak himself from the hide of one of those bog reptiles, so it only made sense he would brand it himself.
Warlocks belong in their books, titans their wall, but hunters... hunters belong in the wild.
Thankyou for reading, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig reminding you to live beyond the story!
