I actually thought I was pretty solid sitting at 40% with my HC's, using them pretty much for everything. Tbh, I don't think that's really bad at all, and pretty sure that people with extremely high percentages are inflated due to replaying mission checkpoints like the first moon mission or Siege of the Warmind where they just shoot a line of thrall in the head running at them over and over to complete bounties. From every other game I've played and seen player stats, if you're anywhere 40-50% precision you're good. Your numbers are always going to take negative hits if you continue to play with that weapon type in situations where they may not be suited.

Keep in mind activity types are a factor as well. It's a bit harder to consistently get head shots in Crucible with everyone jumping and moving around. Just for curiosity sake looked at some of the absurdly high % and some of them have actually spent more time in raids alone than crucible.

  • Exactly. I have no doubt that most posts claiming very high % are PvE-centric players who have farmed areas where headshots are a joke.

  • 40~50% is really good! Keep that up, and you'll hone your aim into perfection in no time! :D
