It has less content than most FPS games currently on the market.
It has WAY less content than any MMO/RPG on the market.
It's an FPS within gan MMO lite framework.
They expect you to play everyday, for an extended period of time. The game is built to have a long play life. They cheaped out on the content.
Defend it all you want, but the fact remains that they artificially prolonged the life of an online shooter by constantly moving goalposts back a few yards at a time and won't fix any bugs/glitches that allows the player to get ahead. This point is exacerbated by the fact that they aggressively patch nerfs and exploits and any weapon buff instantly means a tenfold nerf on a handful of others.
All they had to do was buff pulse rifles. What was the point of nerfing the autos? Again? For like the third time? They nerfed them multiple times before, and what happened? PEOPLE STILL USE THEM BECAUSE THEY LIKE AUTOS. I hate pulse rifles, I have no use for them, I don't care how much they buff them, I don't want them.
Stop acting like people are being entitled for wanting what the company promised. We were lied to and we're still being lied to, and now interest is really starting to fall off. Good for you though, stick it out, be the last man standing, just do Bungie a favour and get the lights on your way out.
"Last one out, get the lights..."
I wonder if you know that reference.

Name a single FPS game that has more content than Destiny. You claim "all" but you have nothing to back that up.. Just because you're tired of Destiny's content and want new content doesn't mean a 6 hour dudebro action shooting game with a repetitive online TDM has more content.

It took me weeks of playing just to finish the Halo games on Legendary. I never finished Borderlands due to the overwhelming amount of stuff going on. Metro 2033, Portal, Half Life 2. Basically all of them. ~signed Everyone~ It took me an afternoon to blow through Destinys story. Since then it has been the same missions over, and over. And over. And over.

Really? Borderlands? Portal?

Portal might've been a bit of a stretch. But when you consider the co-op campaign, it was a lot of fun and took a while to get through everything. Borderlands. Yes. More guns, more stuff to do.

Borderlands may take a little longer to do everything, but you can beat every single mission in Borderlands in about 25 hours. So no, those do not have more content. I don't know if you know this, but the story missions in Destiny are just the beginning. I'm sorry that you never got to Raid or experience end game content at all.

Edited by Dvtch: 2/11/2015 6:42:42 PMUhhhh, did you inspect my gear and guns? You don't get any of that stuff from a vendor, I assure you. I've done my fair share of raiding. You said name one that has more content, I named about 4 that have at least as much and one that exceeds destiny directly on its own ground, Borderlands. Those were designed to be straight up FPS's. They are designed to be played through once or twice and that's it. Destiny is built the same way, only they TELL you it's designed to be played for ten years. You finish everything the first day, like the aforementioned FPS's, then you come back the next day AND PERFORM ALL THE SAME CONTENT IN A DIFFERENT ORDER. There isn't more content, they just keep giving you the same stuff to do. I have literally had the same patrol mission drop for me, from the same faction member, not twice, not three times, but FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. Go and kill the servitor. Okay, now run back and kill the servitor. Didn't you do it right? kill the -blam!-ing servitor. What??GET BACK THERE AND KILL THE -blam!-ING SERVITOR! And the "story?" They tied that garbage bag up with a nice little drawstring didn't they? There is nothing to build on because the story is nonsense. I see now why Joe Staten left. After activision left most of the narrative on the cutting room floor, he couldn't in good conscience stick around. I don't blame him. And exactly WHEN are they going to build onto this "story"? The dark below was crap piled on crap. I'll reserve judgement on HoW until it drops, but given Bungies track record so far, I expect more of the same, i.e. Nothing. Unless you've power leveled your toons, you're just a "tad" behind me and many others who echo my sentiments with regards to hours played. I've been with this mess since the beta, and while I see its potential, it maddens me that Bungie continues handling it in the manner they have been. It deserves better and so do we.

None of those games have more content than Destiny. The only thing you can do to prolong the life of those games is to play them over and over. Destiny offers you much more than that.
-
Destiny offers you the same thing, that's my point. You play through it once, then you continue to play through over and over. How hard would it be to at least write up some new bounties?
