What we want Destiny to be, what Destiny wants to be, and what Destiny actually is are so wildly different that it's sometimes hard to reconcile the three.

And many of the half-witted defenders of the game's failures try the "well it's your opinion"....that's not the case. RNG being a shitty method for delivering loot is not opinion, it's a fact. Based on how the chemicals of the brain work in the overwhelming majority of players in this game. And so on and so forth for a laundry list of different functions in the game.
