When did it become the "thing" to play 1 game an insane amount of hours till you're burnt out than complain about being burnt out? For gods sake, mix it up, play other games.

  • Destiny's addictive qualities really exacerbated this, I think. We blame Bungie for making an addictive game even as we lament the fact that we know we're the ones who boot it up. Keep in mind, though, that many people don't have the disposable income to buy many games, and so fixate on one. Activision and Bungie's marketing promises also led many people to imagine a game that always had something interesting to do. Destiny will have that one day, I think. But we're early in it's life yet, especially as a franchise.

  • When EverQuest was released. Blizzard then caught on and perfected the formula.
