If an enemy is using a technology related weapon then one can drain and erase the computer operating system renduring it useless. They also gain all the knowledge of anything they drain or copy. Theoretically they could download the entire internet so long as they had a proper connection, or leave something like the death star no more than a giant hunk of metal in space.
