Why aren't YOU using Shotguns in PVE?
Do share, why don't you use them? And I'd rather have more specific reason than "I don't like them" (which is a valid reason ofcourse), because I'm curious why don't you like them.

In NF this is more essential if you like to do it solo If they had explosive rounds then it comes down to how fun can I have. I would be running round like any idiot. It won't be suitable PvP though.

I do use shotguns in PvE. Typically only on my titan however. Void shotgun was my go to Minotaur clearing machine in VoG back in the good ol days

I would rather not get in melee distance of something like say a Minotaur, when I can do comparable damage at range with a sniper, give me incentive to get that close.

1 Replyi do use a shotgun in PVE! a void one! when im opening the vog sync plates ! its a panic button to down minotaurs fast! otherwise never. why would you? there are so many better options that wont get you killed. even with 200% damage i struggle to see myself using it in any of the challenging content.

Shotguns as they are RIGHT NOW don't do enuff damage in pve to be used.

Generally I don't get into close range to use my weapons, as I tend to prefer taking out enemies at a distance. I do however, use machine guns if I need to quickly take out a mob (Usually the fast firing MGs).

I have IB. Since i got it, it's very hard to replace it with anything. Maybe murmur at times. I have invective too and love in in pvp. With this shotty buff coming(or is it here???) i think invective will come out to play a bit more. Saint 14 plus invective would be fn awesome. Missing one of those tho..... Other reason? Almost every situation leads to a quick death when ur in that close for that long. The range on the shotgun is terrible, at least ones i have owned.

1 ReplyI prefer safety most of the time. Unless I'm my defender titan on a strike... then the Thunderdome comes up, and the shotties brought out (universal remote+ found verdict). You silly snipers just give me cover fire.

2 RepliesI use them in strikes, i love that play-style. I heard an idea for universal remote where instead of a spread of shells it just shoots one slug with all the damage of the shells, and increase its range slightly. I didn't like this idea at first, but it grew on me, and know I actually really like it. It fits UR's exotic ability, and its sights pretty well. I would use it in VoG and CE if it had that.

Bitch slap from an enemy does more damage IMO then shooting it with a shotgun. They are good, but the risk and reward leans a lot towards risk at this time.

I don't like the range on them. Although I just got Invective from an exotic bounty. It has regenerating ammo. Could be fun.

1 ReplyI do! I use Invective a lot. A single mag takes out most Majors. Found Verdict is a beast too. I can't wait until the patch hits. Those guns will really melt some Major faces then.
