I tripped, went high into the air, and landed straight onto my left wrist. Thought I dislocated my arm, but it turns out I broke the wrist.

When I was like, five or six, I got my thumb caught in some gears. It tore the skin all the -blam!- up.

5 RepliesWas ejected from side window of a van at 70 mph. Wasn't wearing seatbelt. Broke window with skull, glass shards on edge cut into my lower back & severely damaged my L5/S1 vertebra. Landed on left shoulder & shattered it into 3 pieces. When ambulance took me to hospital, 6 nurses held me down while a doctor put 5 staples in my head (no anesthetic due to concern about time from accident to when I arrived at hospital). Only reason I lived is because I thought I was going to die & had accepted it- I wasn't bracing (similar to how drunks survive wrecks).

I had a sever case of streptococcus and bacterial pharyngitis infections in my throat last week. Probably the worst pain I've ever felt. Had to go to the ER.

When I was much younger, I had to go for an urgent tooth extraction because the tooth had decayed pretty badly (I don't remember why), but the anesthesia somehow didn't work properly, probably because it wasn't given enough time to kick in (my memory of that incident is kinda fuzzy now), and apparently everyone outside could hear me screaming. I'm glad I don't remember all the details, but it definitely was -blam!-ing excruciating. Apart from that, I had pneumonia once, and when the hospital staff were trying to draw some of my blood for testing they kept pricking me but missing the vein. Can't remember if that one [i]really[/i] was that painful though. I think I was just a pussy then.

1 ReplyI used to be a paratrooper in the army few months back, and there was one jump into a field problem that obviously didn't go as planned. I was a 240l machine gunner, so my load was always a lot heavier then other troopers. The winds were in excess of 25 mph, which is way too high for airborne operations. Anyways, as ordered, out we all go. I remember the shock of the chute deploying, then drifting across a 3 kilometer wide drop zone in a matter of 20 seconds. I woke up in the hospital, all my gear was destroyed from the fall, my machine gun was literally broken in half, (poor baby) and I hit the ground so hard it snapped the helmet off my head. Had the worst pain all over my body I've ever had for a solid 2-3 days. Gnarly haha.
