Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, [i]you're letting your team-mates down[/i].
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.

Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

5 RepliesWarlocks with self rez can save your team on hard raid, especially on the conflux part because they can stay alive a long time and can revive themselves to stay up even longer.

2 RepliesIt's not really a crutch, just a backup plan in case you get in a sticky situation. But some people (like me) prefer the sunsinger class and its an added perk considering nothing else is really that great in that column.

I use voidwalker but I don't think self res is a crutch. Everyone dies, and it's there for when they die.

You're a nub. I generate orbs almost every time I melee or give a hive a head shot. And pvp is the least useful place for self Rez. You're totally right about self Rez though, wiping a nightfall is totally better than taking two extra rockets to get done because I didn't toss a nova bomb or two at the boss... .. ................... @_______@

If you run a Nightfall (or weekly) without self res then you are asking for problems.

Not really. Stuff happens in pvp. Getting supered is one. I rarely even is it to revive in crucible. Only if I get a 15 kill streak and someone supers me or I get group attacked. Get up and slaughter them all. But where as titan smash kills everything mine doesn't, so using it before I die isn't always an option. I could use it and immediately get nova or smashed because I used it. It's all about playing it smart.

Aww.....did someone get killed by a warlock this evening? It comes in handy if y'all get wiped in nightfall. BUT besides nightfall, raids and PVP its use is limited. Just one tool in the toolbox.

1 ReplyI'll take a self rezing warlock over a cloaking hunter anyday. A hunter cloaking so adds ATTACK everyone else now that's useless and deff NOT helping the team.

Warlock is my main char, I honestly hate revive for PvP. I think its good for pve though, I use it as my reserved life. I go balls to the walls when I have it up, but if I die I play reserved until it is back.
