Hey, I'm not ragging on the city, but you folks are so close to the Gulf that the humidity during summer is utterly insane!
Having done both and if it was just about the weather, I'd rather spend summer in El Paso than in Houston. City-wise? Houston > El Paso. Heat+Humidity? Even El Paso (which is brutal) is easier to tolerate than a Houston summer. Plus, El Paso doesn't have the hurricane risk of Houston.

All of that true and I understood exactly what you meant. I actually don't technically live in Houston though. I was born there and lived there till about the 6th grade but I still go visit my mom several times out of the yeAr.
