Are girlfriends 'overrated'
Yes, yes don't we all hate that word [i]overrated[/i] but I only use it when i strongly feel someone/something is overrated like Tupac.
Why do we need a woman to be happy when we've got:
* Bros to hang out with
* Video games to enjoy
* A body to build
* Movies / TV shows to watch
* Skills to improve (art for me)
+ many more!
I'll admit I'm a beta who was never confident around woman and never had a girlfriend but that never stopped me from enjoying my life.
During a period of my life back in junior years when life was simple (played Halo 2 all day and watched Jake Long: American Dragon) I wanted a GF because almost everyone around me had a partner so I thought there was something wrong with me.
I pity the next guy who says [i]tfw when no gf[/i]
Now that I've grown older, experienced certain moments in life and overcame peer pressure I have to say woman are the least of my concerns.
How about you flood?

Girlfriends are overrated. However, love isn't. Or... that's what I'd like to think... I wouldn't know, as I've never experienced it. I hope to one day.

You don't "get" a girlfriend (bad term, you're implying this girl is your catch, when if fact both partners should equally catch one another), you connect with someone on a deeper level. I agree that you can have fun with bros and friends on a level, but not the same level as someone you're romantically involved with. So not overrated, unless you're only goal is to have one for the sake of having one.

2 RepliesSince I'm still young, I'm going to completely disagree with your opinions and claim that having a girlfriend is the best thing ever. Until I learn otherwise (or grow into an old bag like you), I will maintain this opinion and have as much fun in this relationship as I can.

Yeah! Screw the girl that I like in a non literal way, why ask her out and have to do things and act nice when I can just watched Netflix and be a twat. By myself.

They are only overrated if the only reason you have one is to put on a fake image and you don't feel like a whole person without one. A relationship should never define who you are. If it does then I'd say there is an issue with that person if they can't go on without having a girlfriend for the sake of just having one to 'fit in'.
