wow..was that it? dissatisfied with the new ViDoc
like..wtf is this. at a certain point it stops being clever marketing to tease the audience, and it starts being plain damn annoying!! this is gamescom, i was hoping for them to show a full new gameplay walkthrough type thing like they did at e3, except with a new map..and instead what i got was a bunch of flashy scenes of stuff ive already seen! what...the...hell. this is getting annoying.

Actually, I saw a few things I did not notice before. The tank thing they were fighting was releasing drones, some of the enemies are new to me, they confirmed solo play is possible, we have 3 slots for weapons and confirmed we will get to most of the planets in the solar system (at least out to Saturn - not sure how that will happen). I really hope they don't rush the game / features they put in and have a bad release like H4.

I partially agree. I feel like the ViDoc lacked in a few things but it was better than not getting anything. Maybe they just don't want to spoil anything

I liked it. It's not fully meant to show us tons of new things yet, it's a video documentary. It's supposed to go into detail on what they want to show us or have already shown us.

1 ReplyYeah, it was a little short. I would love to see more. But you know what? This game isn't being launched 2 months from now. It's more like a year away. Settle down and try to wait patiently. I know it's hard. I feel your frustration too. Bungie is trying to create hype by spreading out all these minuscule details. Tho it is starting to become more annoying than informative.

Would you rather have them spend hours making ViDocs after ViDocs, or would you like them to develop the game the ViDocs are about?

What!?! The ViDoc was awesome, it captured the pure excitement and awe of the old ViDocs. The team speaking about what they're aiming for, glimpses of old gameplays, but in different angles showing the full view of the level, teases of new things that we haven't seen before, and glimpses of the power of the engine that powers the game..... I guess we all see it differently...

There has got to be something you can do to help pass the time till the next info release. Try finding a new fun hobby.

They are still pre-alpha they are not going to reveal to much information because they are still trying to see what features they are actually going to be able to implement in the given time frame, and what ones will have to stay on the drawing board until a sequel/expansion.

I really wanted more than "Hey guys there's some cool competitive multiplayer!" I wanted some more details.

Almost half of the ViDoc was things we had seen already, but I still was not expecting a ViDoc to begin with so I'm happy.

I feel like they should have put in some more info on the player like armor/weapons/abilities (not space magic) movement abilities.

I'm happy to see the awesome environment and weapon designs, it's enough to keep me happy while not spoiling the game, a vidoc for competitive multiplayer will be nice though.

The game is a long ways out, they've showed us a ton of stuff, and they will continue to do stuff. Sit back, analyze the video or wait for someone to do it for you, and stop complaining. Seriously, I would have killed to have gotten this much info back during the Darkness. You are one lucky Marine.

My real concern is the wait between each reveal. It breeds circular posts and just invites trolling. Frustration breeds contempt, so I'm glad Bungie is following up with from the drawing table.

That was really lackluster. Was anything new besides glimpses at guns and armor? A clip of one guardian shooing another one?
