Meeting an Xbox friend IRL!
I met DarkestSeptagon yesterday, and it was fantastic!! Flood, have you met a friend, first on the internet, then in real life? Any funny stories?

I had a lot irl "friends of friends" who I never met, until I started talking with them over Xbox. Now the "of friends" part is gone and we frequently hang out.

All my XBL friends, bar a handful, are rl friends Having said that, the ones I have on my friends list who I don't know IRL have been on there (bar Cam) for maybe 6 or 7 years so meeting them wouldn't be a problem at all.

3 RepliesYes, indeed. I met the majority of my friends through xbl. It all started 3 years ago, I was playing the Halo:Reach beta. Majority of our team had a mic so we talked and kept the convo going. All of these guys were friends INL. They added me as a friend so we talked the following weekend. I was changing schools at the time, and the following weekend we played together some more. I told them I lived in CA and so did they. They said what school I went to and all that shit. They went to school 10 minutes away from mine. And, the school they went to that's the school I was moving to. We were all the same grade at the time. So the following month I moved to their school and we all became best friends. :) Pretty cool, new friends the first day of school.

I met a guy from New York who I got to know really well on XBL. He was a really cool guy, too bad we haven't talked or played Halo together in almost two years.

Yeah, I have. Me and her met on MW2 a while back, and went to Vegas about a month ago. One of the greatest experiences of my life.

A decent amount of females through facebook. Through Xbox live I met a girl I tried a long distance relationship with, turns out she sucked it bed. That ended quick.

22 RepliesI would love to, and in fact, I was always hoping that I would have enough people on here that I can call "friends" because in about three years I'm taking a year or so to travel the world, and would LOVE to go around meeting all the different people that make up this community. But currently, I have not, which makes me sad because I have some really good and close friends on here that I know would be hella fun to hang out with at some point. That's awesome though OP, I love that this community is able to meet in person at times. It separates us from the weaker online communities, and shows how much we all really enjoy the same things.
