I am begging Bungie to please find a way to bring back the Nether activity from Episode Heresy to the portal. The redesign of the Dreadnought in that episode was absolutely incredible, and it is easily my favorite activity ever added to Destiny 2 alongside classics like Menagerie and Escalation Protocol.
It feels like a waste for such a beautifully redesigned destination and fun activity to only be in the game for three months. I just want to walk around those areas, complete the fun objectives, and fight the Hive for hours. For over 8yrs I waited for the dreadnought to come back and it did and it looked amazing please bungie bring back the nether!
I understand your low on resources so I’m not asking for the original weapons to come back because I know some of those are in the dungeon on the moon, I’m just asking that you put the nether in the portal. You could switch the heresy weapons out for a portal weapons in the chest that you find or just make them materials or XP. Honestly, I’ll take a bare bones just patrol area where I can encounter hive, even if you can’t put all the encounters and the boons I’ll still take it! I just want to explore and have a few hive spawn in from time to time please bungie!

1 ReplyIt was fun to do after they fixed healing... Verity is the spice of life after all ... Would make a good pinnacle activity... Add the loot pool with T5 and it would definitely be another thing to do on a weekly.... Post....

Nah it was genuinely terrible

The nether was mid at best

I have ptsd from a triumph from the nether that you had to get a certain rotation of maps to finish it and you wouldnt know until the end. I ran it way too much. I'm OK with never playing it again 😂

1 ReplyEdited by ODSTrooper: 11/4/2026 4:06:54 PMI had about 900 hours of playtime in the Heresy episode alone. I really had enjoyed my time with the Nether. I liked it due to the level of challenge, chasing the adept weapons along with the versions that came with an alternate origin trait, it was a great glimmer farm, and the boon modifiers plus changing encounters everytime made it to me simply a lot of fun. The location itself was exciting to explore due to all of the secret things plus a few new rooms, and these had made this updated version of the location feel different enough from its D1 counterpart. The Dreadnought has always to this day remained one of my favourite patrol zones due to the atmosphere and background music. It feels so much more fitting or in line in a way to the Destiny universe than say Lightfall/Neomuna. The only tricky thing however about this request besides the obvious fact that Bungie's plate is probably tall enough with all of the other unvaulting demands, is that they already put three of the original Heresy weapons that dropped from the Nether into the Pit of Heresy dungeon as tiered drops which would make the rewards here be kind of redundant (although personally I could accept this trade-off). The only solution is for them to maybe bring back the Court of Blades too or at least some of its weapon drops like the Mirror Imago SMG and use solely others like the LMG or fusion rifle that were left behind in the tier system and which currently are now only available with Banshee or Xur. I really do feel all of the episode content should have fully remained though as it did mark the end of Destiny's first saga.

I never liked the Nether, but I loved that SMG. One of if not the best feeling SMG I've used in this game with Moving Target and Target Lock, that origin trait basically being a built in Zen Moment probably being the closest I can think of in comparison. Still wish they were craftable though.

It would be nice to have 1 of each seasonal activity in the Ops sections. 3 player in Fire Team, 6 player in Arena.
